Cloudbreak Operation Header Pipework Replacement

Project Overview

In March 2019, FMG approached ECP Polyurethanes with a significant challenge: manufacturing replacement header pipework for their Cloudbreak Operation. The project was notable for its scale, as it involved the largest diameter pipework ever to be hot cast PU lined, according to our knowledge.

Scope of Work

The project required the fabrication of a range of pipework components, including:

  • 1,200nb Straight Spools and Tees
  • 900nb Spools
  • 5D Long Radius Elbows

Our comprehensive service included:

  • Fabrication: Precise and robust manufacturing of all components.
  • Third-Party Weld Inspections and Testing: Ensuring adherence to stringent quality and safety standards.
  • Hot Cast Internal Specthane Lining: Applying our advanced lining technology to enhance resistance to abrasion and corrosion.
  • External Protective Coating: Providing additional durability and protection against environmental factors.

Timeline and Execution

The project was completed on schedule, with ECP Polyurethanes overseeing the entire process. Our team was present on-site during the installation phase to ensure smooth execution.

Performance and Legacy

As of now, all components remain in operation, reflecting the success and durability of the solutions provided. ECP Polyurethanes is exceptionally proud of the role played in this project and remains committed to delivering complex and innovative solutions to meet the demands of our clients.
